NS Heritage - New York Central

On January 10, the New York Central heritage unit led a special Norfolk Southern train from Selma to New Bern NC. The Heritage program was instituted several years ago to commemorate all the rail systems that had been assimilated to become the present day Norfolk Southern Railway. One locomotive from each was painted in the company livery as a remembrance. NYC began in the 1800s and became part of the Penn Central and later Conrail before becoming a part of Norfolk Southern in 1998.
