An added treat the day I watched the vermilion flycatcher in Martin County was getting to watch a mated pair of red-shouldered hawks working a pasture. You can see them both here, the darker one is the male. They would sit on fence posts and scan the pasture and swoop down quickly to grab bugs and rodents. It was similar, but opposite, of the flycatcher who scanned the air and swooped UP to grab them. Thanks, Bob Koch.
