Passing the airport in Washington the other day, I saw the Department of Interior seaplane that is based in Maine. It moves around the country carrying wildlife experts who count the migrant bird populations. As you might know, eastern North Carolina is one of the continent’s most popular winter destinations for ducks, geese, and swan. The lady who brings and pilots the 1985 Cessna 206 Stationaire hails from a family of Alaskan pilots. Week 50 was December 12-18, 2021.
