Some years ago, we had a raccoon who regularly visited our deck bird feeder and scrap hunting. After a while, if we failed to leave her any scraps on the deck, she’d come over and tap on the patio door to remind us. Eventually she brought a family with her to her porch forage. Last moth we had a female raccoon show up at the feeder. After a couple of weeks of regular visits, we were shocked to see a young raccoon on the deck. Looking out the window, we saw a second on the ground. The next night, it was mama and three little ones on the deck.
